Iconic Anime Character Gets His Own Japanese Train Station

Doraemon, a robotic cat from the future, is one of Japan’s most beloved anime characters. He now has his own train station in Kawasaki, Kanagawa H25 Prefecture. Doraemon debuted as a manga in 1969, ending publication in 1996. Its long-running anime series still airs. The character has been called “the Mickey Mouse of Japan,” alluding to his iconic status.
